A elegant fairylit backdrop

Tara & Will chose the 10mtr faiylit fabric backdrop for their wedding on saturday where their reception was held at the Riverside Function Centre. The couple decorated their own tables with help from family & friends. The bridal table skirting will complete the picture.

I am always amazed at the innovative & totally unique ideas which couples choose to decorate.
The contrasting colours of rainforest green & midnight black for the sashes & favors & the romance of pink orchids sang a lovely tune together. The tall cylindrical glass bowls acted as fish bowls for little goldfish waiting in earnest of the special occasion.
The bridal table featured two tall champagne glasses with glass beads shimmering like diamonds in the water beckoning more goldfish to join the celebrations.

2009 Grafton to Inverell CycleClassic

The 2009 winner is Queensland's Malcolm Rudolph. We raced up to catch this photo just as he was overcome with emotion after his win last Saturday in the race that stretched from Grafton to Inverell over 228kms. He timed it in 6 hours, 26 minutes and 49 seconds.

It's really quite different being there at the finish line at sporting events than seeing it on the tele, you can't really feel the excitment of the crowds and the atomsphere sitting in front of the TV as you can being there and cheering on the participants. It's very contagious, if you haven't done it lately I would highly recommend it!! It was the first time that I have watched the race & I have only one regret
& that is I wish I had a camera that can capture a speeding cyclist racing home over the finish line. I had no hope of catching anything other than a blurrrrrr. Second place went to Northern District's William Clarke while Rudolph's team mate from Rockhampton, Cameron Jennings took out third place.

McDonalds came to the party too & the children followed Ronald Mc Donald and Hamburgler around all day. It didn't hurt that he was handing out gifts either!

We were asked to do some decorating for the events presentation night. He hall was packed to the rafters (to the exits anyway)with tables.

We were asked to provide these starburst arrangements for 40 tables out of the 60 plus in the hall & the entry featured two single balloon arches.

Remember you are only limited by your budget so for something very spectacular I would suggest planning & budgeting for your function weeks or even months in advance.

Kirinari, Simply The Best

Kirinari Community Services purchased one of our topiary boxes to display on their stand at Inverell On Display which features & showcases local business' in the community. It is becoming bigger each year.

I chose a silver box with stars studded all over, and 2 cut out silver stars standing on the box . The photo doesn't show very well but there is a beautiful silver fabric ribbon underneath the royal blue one too. The shades of blue are the colours used in the business signage.

I think this box certainly shows how Kirinari are 'Simply The Best' by being the employer of choice and leaders in the homecare & accommodation service industry by providing a quality and outstanding service to aged people and people with a disability. This happens to be the employer I have chosen to stay with for almost 10 years since they opened in Inverell in 1999.

We placed 4 cloud nines around the hall on 2 metre stands decorated with gold white & diamond clear balloons. & draped with gold white ribbons. You can't see it in this photo but all the stands featured lights on the stands which lit during the evening. Diamond clear & white balloons of different sizes with various wedding designs were scattered on the floor in front of the stage.

Children in the fashion parade held bright coloured balloons printed with Big Smiles as they skipped on down the catwalk.

Hi all!

Gosh , it feels like ages since Easter which was my last post on Balloons n Stuf!!

I have been really busy, I know that's supposed to be a 'good thing' but some things fall behind & this time it's the blogging.

Although when I did get a chance I started up the other blogs, http://www.passion4pinkblog.blogspot.com/ & http://www.dreamweddinghire.blogspot.com/ recently. I plan to make passion4pink about myself,family,home, community & the things & people I love. Eventually I would like it to be a vintage /pink blog. Dreamwedding hire blog will display the items I have for hire, at least that's the plan.

Craig & I had a really amazing weekend, decorating Inverell's 'Bride of the Year Expo & Variety Night' held on saturday night ,our first really big venue. The event recorded 450 people entered the doors on saturday, wow!! this night was held as charity event to raise money for 2 Inverell school teachers, Andrew Thomas & Jason Little who are entrants in the Variety Bush to Bash which raises funds for children with special needs & disdvantaged children from the bush.

I have a couple of photos to post tonight that will hopefully please those who have asked me for them, but unfortunately they are not the best shots. I just realised that I am loading these posts back the front , never mind I am sure you'll all keep up.

We had great revues from the night, which has made us very proud. Thankyou to all the people who helped us to tie bows, hold equipment & supply food and drink throughout the day & evening.

Craig & I gained a lot of exposure to the Inverell community and we were happy to have met & chatted with some very genuine people over the weekend. We are so excited to have been given the opportunity to participate in such an important event in the community & what we gained from the experience was nothing short of invaluable.

Thankyou also to Jodi from 'Back 2 Balloons' for her support, encouragement & advice & training to make sure we had a successful night.

This bouquet of balloons were a real birthday surprise for one young lady, whilst out to dinner last night. The surprise was arranged by her devoted Aunty Marg.

When I entered the restarant I found about 20 -30 pairs of eyes focused on me. I found it really funny & disappointing all at the same time because there appeared to be another party on at the restaurant and there was a lot of oooh's & aah's & anticipation from 'the party girls' as to which direction I was going to take. I wasn't too sure myself .........

So, I m very glad I made arrangements to have someone meet me at the front counter whew!! We always try to take as much care as possible to ensure your surprise arrangements are a success.

We were up very early this morning, STILL DARK!

But Craig & I were keen to set up a stall at our first market. Today's market's were held at the Masonic Hall in Otho St, Inverell today, this is a new venue for Inverell crafters & others to display there goods & wares.

We were quite proud of ourselves for first timers, not sure what to expect but stayed positive & put on a brave face. A lot of worry for nothing I must say. All the people who passed our way would stop & say hello & were willing to listen to our sales pitch.

We had a good day selling single balloons on pegs for the kiddies, some arrangements, deliveries & orders. Then we had to rush off early to catch up for appointments with 3 different groups for costumes to buy/hire..

We had some genuine enquiries into decorating for events & weddings, and a party was also booked, so I would consider it 'not a bad day after all'.

What a cute little fella in the next post, he was one I didn't let get away, he fancied the chicken balloon from Old Mcdonald's farm designs.

Brides to B could make their own invites similar to this design, just change the date to match your 'Special Day'. You wouldn't need to be too artistic but if you are a bit unsure why not seek out a clever friend or bridesmaid.

I am imagining this on a gorgeous white cardstock placed over a black and white regency/baroque style printed card. This black and white design is very much 'in' , its everywhere on papers & fabrics.

Complete your invites with some little pearl studs and some of the beautiful ribbons that can be found in our stores today or on line.

Add some favorite ribbons, I seen some fushia pink satin ones first thing this morning for only $2 a roll!! some had dotty designs too!! Love, Love, Love it!!

Spectacular Arabian Night Theme

I just had to share these photos with you all. Who would have thought there was so much you could do with balloons.

What a fantastic transformation from a bare town hall to this spectacular event hosted by two parties in Gunnedah last weekend.

The Catholic Debutante Committee held their event on the friday night while the Business Awards were held on the Saturday evening.

I commend both associations for having the faith in their local talent, Jodi Dolbel from Back 2 Balloons rather than choosing to look outside their area for specialist decorators and the like.

Jodi has been in business over 5 years and certainly has established herself in Gunnedah now.

Although both committees had a role in the event, Jodi did all the staging and most of the decorating including the mtrs and mtrs of draping of glorious arabian colours of reds/ orange and purples and highlighted with gold.

What a magnificient display of amazing talent!!

Frangapanni Wedding

This is a gorgeous wedding we decorated yesterday at the RSM club featuring the vibrant yellow of the frangapanni flowers accented with gold and silver.

The light cream coloured RSM backdrop highlighted the smaller 5" balloons set within the larger balloons.

These larger balloons 'gumballs' were set just below the top of the backdrop but high enough so they are floating above the wedding party.

A small gold metallic gift box on the tables served as a 'thankyou' for each guest that attended.

Each table setting had a different colour balloon on top of each arrangement accented by matching colour tissue paper in the regency printed box.

The boxes were detailed with silver foil embellishments and attached to join the co ordinating ribbons around the box.

This is Miranda trying to get ready for her big night out but we kept hitting her with surprises. she couldn't believe the size of these balloons!! Little bugger wouldn't let us take them out for the night though, they stayed behind with flatmates. Don't worry we had another one or two waiting in the car didn't we?

We made a decorated box with tiara, wand , lights, balloons etc which she could use a little later on into the night. We picked up some little itsy bitsy cupcakes and took along to the restaurant for her b' day cake.

Miranda chose the Thai @ Byron to celebrate her 21st, they added heaps of fun to the night, especially when they sneaked out behind her with a special dessert treat while showering her with bubbles, singing Happy Birthday and waving sparklers around her absolutely treating her like a princess for the night. The food was great and the company superb, us 'oldies' were even asked to help celebrate at the Beach House YES!! However , we went along for a brief 'look see' and then after a while we retreated to our humble accommodation to celebrate and wonder where the heck the years have gone............

Firstly, I have not posted for a few days as I have been very busy with valentines day and keeping my eye on the news in regards to the Victorian Bushfires.
I felt very distressed about the lives that have been lost recently and wish i could do something to help families in need. It appears that financial donations are one of the best options at the moment and i urge everyone who cannot help with other volunteer services or offer any specialist skills, to make a donation as little as it may be.....Thankyou:-)

Thankyou for all the support from everyone who ordered balloons and arrangements from Balloons n Stuf for our first Valentines Day. I hope everyone received gorgeous gifts and shared a beautiful day with loved ones on Saturday. We were very busy with orders and to make things a little bit tighter I decided to make a few specially designed heart shaped chocolate brownie for the occasion. The aroma was devine, let me tell you, and I was tempted to think twice about selling them, however ..............I approached a couple of businesses in town and asked if they would like to see just how well the brownies would sell.

One store in particular, The Albion Store on Glen Innes rd, tastetested my brownies and were very happy to recommend these as 'absolutely beautiful'. They done so well with my chockies on friday that I needed to up my supply on saturday!! My brownies will be sold under the name of 'passion4pink' in future(just in case your lookingLOL), Why!? because I am on a sole searching trip again and I looking back to things that make me feel good and i have always, always loved PINK !!

Thank goodness too! because I have raised 3 girls over the past 21 years this wednesday and there has been a lot of pink around. This week i am heading to Beautiful Byron Bay to meet up with family and friends for Miranda's big 21st birthday bash.

Just a bit about the girl... named after Miranda Kerr from Gunnedah where my Miranda was born. I decided i would name my first born girl, Miranda after seeing Miranda Kerr as a young toddler, a cute little dark headed girl with absolute impeccable manners with her mum in the shopping centre where i worked. I just felt then that she had star quality and wanted a role model for my baby to look upto. We have followed the path of Miranda (Kerr) and we are very proud to have the Gunnedah connection.

I am very proud of my Miranda who has turned into a gorgeous young woman as I imagined she would. There was a time, a long time ago........... that I prayed that I would live to see the day that she turned 21 and fortunately with many prayers here we are with in 2 days of the date...............Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!! Can't wait to celebrate with you !!!

and there's more........ Monique (19) is starting University in Lismore this week to study Tourism and Hospitality Management, Go Girl we know you can do it !!! I hope she can pay me back after 3 years with her services and connections LOL.
